Frequently asked questions

Can Randstad workers wear EDF Energy branded uniforms?
No, under no terms should an EDF Energy uniform be issued. Our Process Account Manager can discuss this with you in more detail. Our HR Business Partner is available for further advice. Please talk to your onsite Randstad representative.

How does this impact on my ability to supervise Randstad workers? E.g. can I continue to give them direction as I do today?
Please continue to give direction regarding operational issues. However, do not provide direction on personnel issues. All personnel issues should be referred to your Randstad Account Team.

How do I manage holidays of Randstad workers?
The current site-specific process applies as detailed above.

Will Randstad pay for training to improve their workers' competencies?
This will be agreed on an individual basis. Please contact your Randstad Account Team if you wish to discuss further.

What do I do if a Randstad worker has an accident?
The EDF Energy site/company procedures should be followed in terms of reporting etc. Randstad will work with you to ensure this is completed in the correct way. If you need more clarity please discuss this with a member of your Randstad Account Team.

What would I do with a Randstad worker, if there is an out of hours incident?
As they are not EDF Energy employees, you cannot discipline them yourselves. We recommend you attempt to contact a member of the Randstad Account Team in the first instance. If you are unable to contact Randstad, ask the Randstad worker to leave site and explain that Randstad will contact them as soon as possible and refer the matter to your Randstad Account Team.

What do I do if one of my Randstad workers becomes pregnant?
Randstad will conduct a risk assessment in conjunction with EDF Energy.

Can I discipline/dismiss a Randstad worker?
No. Please refer (as soon as possible) any issues regarding a Randstad worker's conduct or performance to Randstad using the agreed process.

How do I end the assignment of a Randstad worker?
You cannot, please follow the earlier process outlined - flex-associate release process. For further clarity please contact a member of your Randstad Account Team.

If we need to release some people through lack of work, can we choose who it is?
Randstad will use mutually agreed selection criteria to ensure a fair process, which will require input from EDF Energy stakeholders in order to identify which worker(s) leave the business.

Who decides which Randstad worker to release in the event of a mass layoff?
Randstad will make this decision in conjunction with EDF Energy using mutually agreed selection criteria; again this is to ensure a fair process. This will require input from EDF Energy Stakeholders/Managers.

How much notice do we need to provide if we wish to reduce headcount/ Randstad worker(s) from the business?
Please provide as much notice as possible.

What happens if I only want a flex-worker/associate for a few days?
Please discuss this with a member of your Randstad Account Team.

What happens if I fail to follow the EDF Energy and Randstad processes?
You are potentially exposing EDF Energy, as a company, to significant risk.

Who should I contact if I have further questions?
Please contact either your HR representative or a member of your Randstad Account Team.
