The development of a nursery on the site of a hospital in Suffolk will create 40 new jobs for the local labour market.A purpose-built facility will be constructed at West Suffolk hospital in Bury St Edmonds by the autumn, offering places for 90 children aged between three and five and dozens of employment opportunities in the east of England, Bury Free Press reported.
The development is being funded by the company Busy Bees, which already operates 129 nurseries throughout the UK.
Jan Bloomfield, director of workforce and communications at the hospital, explained that the recruitment campaign will seek experienced staff skilled in childcare.
She told the newspaper: "We are committed to attracting the best possible staff to work at the hospital. The new nursery will act as an extra incentive to those with young children, who otherwise may struggle to find convenient childcare."
The east of England's labour market was given further cause for optimism last month when the government announced that it had invested £3 million into Norwich Science Park creating 300 new jobs in the process.
