A national supermarket has disclosed that it will create 350 jobs in Northern Ireland with the development of a store in County Down.Sainsbury's disclosed that it has been given planning permission to construct a new store in Bangor, which will eventually generate hundreds of full and part-time employment opportunities.
The store will be built on the Balloo Retail Park near a Homebase outlet - with a number of existing buildings expected to be demolished as part of the scheme.
Chris Templeman, head of property development at Sainsbury's, claimed that this new store represents a multi-million pound investment in Northern Ireland.
He said: "This development is great news for the local economy in terms of job creation and an additional Sainsbury's store means increased business for our local suppliers."
Last week, Northern Ireland's labour market was given further cause for optimism when Dobbies Garden Centres announced that it will construct a facility in Lisburn, creating 120 jobs.
