The Green Home Company, based in Bridgend, will open up positions in its call centre and sales operation, Wales Online reports.

Founder and executive chairman of the company Alan Proto said: "We are thrilled to have launched our new operations in Bridgend so that more people in Wales and the south-west of England can benefit from our solar installations."

He added that Wales has an increasing concern surrounding fuel poverty and that solar panels will help residents to see the real benefits of eco-friendly energy generation in the reduction of their fuel bills.

"The fact that we continue to grow in spite of the recent uncertainty is a real success story for the industry," he commented.

Employment opportunities in the green sector are making the growth of environmentally-friendly measures a reality, Mr Proto explained.

Green Home Company has already recruited 50 members of staff in recent months and is looking to take on a further 30 people in the coming weeks before reaching its total of 100 new employees later this year.

The announcement came in the wake of a decision by the High Court to not overturn the ruling that the government's decision to lower the subsidies was unlawful solar panel subsidies will be cut. The government protested against the court's decision.

Director of the National Home Improvement Council Andrew Leech recently suggested that people should still be encouraged to invest in solar panels to promote a more sustainable future for the UK.
