Some 40 job vacancies are to be created in the Moray area of Scotland as part of an expansion initiative by outsourcing firm Capita. The most recent announcement comes after the company opened up 100 jobs in November last year as it moved some of its operations to Forres, the Press Association reports.
Roles will range from customer service positions to opportunities in senior management, according to an announcement from the organisation.
Moray MP Angus Robertson said: "Capita's strong commitment to their operation in Forres is extremely important for the local economy, especially given the pressure placed on the Forres area by a major reduction in forces personnel at nearby [RAF] Kinloss."
He added that Capita's expansion in the county is a welcome boost to the local economy and will provide additional support for a wide range of businesses in the area.
Job opportunities were previously lacking in Moray and local leaders were said to be worried about the future of the area's economy after RAF Kinloss stopped functioning as an airbase in July last year.
However, as part of the government's Strategic Defence and Security Review, the base will become an army barracks which will help to maintain job security.
Moray is located in the
north-
east of Scotland between the mountains of the Highlands in the west and the Grampians in the east.
