Titanic Belfast, the new exhibition in commemoration of the ship, is to offer a further 180 permanent jobs in security, catering and human resources, it has been announced.Due to open at the end of March, the museum announced last week that it was searching for 70 front-of-house faces in an innovative audition-style interview process.
Following the high demand for the jobs and the level of applicants, the company opened up the further positions earlier today.
Reports showed that some 4,000 people have so far applied for the 70 jobs available in the exhibition.
The owners of the much-anticipated exhibition hoped that the audition interviews would bring out those who had the confidence and passion to work in the interactive setting in the
east of Belfast where the Titanic was built.
Tim Husbands, chief executive of Titanic Belfast, said: "It's difficult to gauge soft skills from a CV, but we need people who are polite, friendly, engaging and well informed - we want visitors to leave Titanic Belfast and return home with tales about how friendly
Northern Ireland is."
An additional audition day has been scheduled for Saturday January 21st following the surge of willing applicants, according to Mr Husbands.
Titanic Belfast is located 100 yards in front of where Titanic's hull was launched.
