Ryanair announces 1,000 new jobs

Budget airline Ryanair has announced it is to embark on a significant recruitment drive that will see the company take on in excess of 1,000 new members of staff over the coming year.Overall, the carrier is keen to bolster its workforce in the
north-west of England, with many of these new jobs being created in Manchester.
Expansion of the company's fleet from 270 to 305 aircraft is being carried out in 2012, as well as the opening of five new bases in Billund (Denmark), Wroclaw (Poland), Palma (Spain), Manchester (UK) and Paphos in Cyprus.
"We are proud to create over 1,000 new jobs in Europe for pilots, cabin crew, engineers and sales and marketing people, as Ryanair's unmatched lowest fares and no fuel surcharge guarantee continues to make Ryanair the world's favourite airline," commented Ryanair's Stephen McNamara.
He added that Ryanair is looking forward to another strong year of results in 2012.
Founded in 1985, the company has grown to be one of the largest passenger carriers in Europe, with routes to more than 160 destinations in 27 countries around the world. In total, Ryanair employs in excess of 8,000 people at present and has predicted passenger numbers of around 73.5 million for the current fiscal year.
