Some 75 permanent jobs are to be created in the south-west of England as Bristol Airport ramps up its recruitment drive to man the terminal building. This decision comes after the introduction of a new flight programme that is set to significantly increase the number of passengers and the unveiling of two new passenger search channels to increase the effectiveness of the security process.
Security provider ICTS is looking to increase its workforce in order to deal with the increased capacity.
Sarah Croll, station manager for ICTS at the airport, said: "We are delighted that, due to the busy year ahead and improvements to the security search facilities at Bristol Airport, we are in a position to recruit an additional 75 staff.
"Candidates who wish to go through the interview and assessment should confirm their intention of participating in the recruitment day."
Head of security at the airport Chris Ware added that the passenger search process plays an important role in ensuring compliance with government regulations.
The West of England Local Enterprise Partnership has announced that it is to help public sector workers faced with job cuts get roles in the commercial industries.
