Hospitality is a demanding, fast-moving, hard-working, 24/7 environment.  If you’re client facing, when you meet with a guest then at that particular moment in time, you ARE the organisation, the institution, the facility or the event.  It takes a certain kind of person: someone who looks the part, thinks smart, has a positive outlook and is always ready to go the extra mile to meet and exceed customers’ expectations.

Randstad’s hospitality opportunities split into seven broad categories: Food & Drink, Front of House, Revenue & Sales, Behind the Scenes, Chefs & Kitchen, Meetings & Events, Management & Executive. Within those categories Randstad offers dozens of different roles, with different levels of responsibility, from kitchen assistants, car park attendants and concierges right through to senior management positions at major London hotels.

We supply a wide range of staff including silver service waiters, wine waiters, cocktail waiters,  commis waiters, kitchen assistants, head chefs, sous chefs, chefs de partie, commis chefs, pastry chefs, receptionists, concierges, porters, car park attendants, restaurant managers, hotel managers, team leaders and operations managers.

There’s no doubt about it, the hospitality industry is incredibly challenging.  But at the same time it can be immensely rewarding both in terms of job satisfaction and (when you reach for the top) financial benefits.  The employment opportunities are diverse, but the common factor is they demand performance at the highest standards across all levels whether front of house or in a backroom capacity.  It’s also a high pressure business.  Many of the roles demand meticulous organisational skills, a capacity to meet deadlines whilst juggling a number of tasks simultaneously, and an ability to think laterally and decisively to devise appropriate solutions in unexpected situations.

Randstad’s consultants are practised in assessing candidates’ personal strengths, positive qualities and practical skills, and then matching those to available jobs.  If you scan through what’s currently on offer in the Hospitality section of the site and see something that interests you, get in touch and arrange to meet a consultant.  And if you don’t see anything that suits right now, but this is a sector you work in, get in touch anyway so that a consultant can meet with you, get an idea of what you’re interests are, and keep you in mind ready for the moment when the ideal role arrives.
