The term legal support covers a number of important roles within the legal sector working with fully qualified lawyers. As a legal support worker you could be working in the commercial, litigation, pi, conveyancing, family or probate specialties. These roles include but are not limited to:

These kinds of roles will often involve the following tasks and responsibilities:
- audio and copy typing
- providing administrative & general secretarial support (see secretarial & PA jobs)
- handling telephone enquiries
- collating legal documents
- attending court hearings
- managing diaries and booking daily appointments
- making travel arrangements
To succeed in these kinds of roles you are likely to possess some or all of the following qualities and attributes:
- good computer skills (fast typing speed, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel)
- an ability to work under pressure & to deadlines
- very good attention to detail
- be a confident communicator over the phone
