Study support for students with disabilities: Non-medical help

This includes all aspects of payment and benefits, including payment of wages to non-medical helpers, invoicing to the funding bodies and control of all management information.
We recruit for non-medical helpers across a wide range of roles including: Notetakers, dyslexia tutors, mentors, library assistants, personal assistants and readers - and by ensuring all workers are fully referenced and CRB checked, can provide qualified and experienced workers all over the country to support your students.
The Randstad HR solutions team provide a wide range of services from a basic invoicing service right through to a full ‘matching’ service, and we tailor these offerings specific to your needs.
Broadly the different service levels include:
- Invoicing of all LA’s/funding bodies on behalf of the university/student reducing administration time and costs to both parties and improving cash flow for the institute.
- Payrolling all non-medical helpers on a monthly basis to ensure prompt payment, which greatly reduces the time & costs to personnel/HR as well as the disability dept.
- Recruitment of non-medical helpers, from advertising right through to appointment. Providing time & cost saving’s to personnel/HR & disability dept. This service also enables you to grow the number of non-medical helpers available to your institute as well as ensuring your high standards continue to be met.
- Matching of the non-medical helpers to students, including timetables, locations, skill sets and availability.
All of the above is provided completely free of charge to the university/college, and in addition to the above we also:
- Assist with all payment and employment matters in relation to the non-medical helpers.
- Ensure full eligibility, enhanced CRB and employment checks on all non-medical helpers are adhered to
Offer a full employment benefits package for non-medical helpers, improving the retention of qualified and experienced staff.
- Provide full Management Information to the university in relation to all aspects of the support work, which enables tracking of student funding & usage to prevent any overspend of DSA entitlements.
Offer support and expertise in writing codes of conduct, student agreements, job descriptions, person specifications and other support related documents.
- Provide a fully automated electronic timesheet and payment service, offering full control of the DSA award and reducing paperwork.
