Our client is a Manufacturing company based in the Leighton buzzard area and they are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant

Job Responsibilities:

As an Accounts Assistant

To make sure that the sales ledger system is up to date, queries are dealt with quickly and efficiently and customer’s payments are received within agreed credit terms

  • Producing sales invoices in line with shipments and making sure any issues are dealt with promptly

  • Raising manual invoices and credit notes

  • Double entry book keeping

  • Timely posting of all receipts onto the accounting system

  • Issue of customer statements

  • Monthly processing of the production payrolls, including Home workers calculation and payment

  • Agree intercompany balances with group companies (Debtors and Creditors)

  • Ensuring the month end and year end tasks are completed in line with the timetable

  • Making sure that the filing is done in a timely manner and all paperwork is up to date

  • Production of month end sales reports

  • Processing of intercompany purchase invoices and ensuring that any queries are dealt with promptly



Preferred Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience within a sales ledger and purchase ledger function

  • Intermediate Word and Excel

  • Some knowledge of Double Entry Book Keeping

  • Demonstrates a well organised and disciplined approach to work.

  • Payroll & Credit Control experience would be an advantage
