About Our Client
Our client is seeking a Technologist to join their company at a very exciting time. The company are fast paced and are continuously looking to grow. They are looking for a person that wants to be successful, is not afraid to challenge and wants to feel part of a strong united team
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop PVC and non-PVC products from concept to a commercial reality in accordance with agreed time scales, using the Company’s system of New Product Development.
• Generate and progress new ideas for both PVC and non-PVC products,
• Participate in multifunctional project teams.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve the product/process and reduce cost
• Work closely with Manufacturing, to resolve process issues and see through ideas from trial status, through process optimization to successful conclusion.
• Evaluate potential new raw materials at laboratory scale and trial in Manufacturing
• Support the Sales, Marketing and Aftercare teams as appropriate
• Aid in the benchmarking of competitor products, finding out as much as possible about their specific constructions.
• To keep up to date with competitor developments
• Support the USA Manufacturing team when necessary
• Build effective contacts with both current and new raw materials suppliers
• To produce a concise report of monthly progress for the R&D Manager
• To help maintain a clean, efficient and safe working environment.
Preferred Skills:
• At least 2 years relevant Industrial experience in either Coatings, Plastics processing, Chemical Industry
• Effective Microsoft Office IT skills
