We are currently recruiting for a Purchasing supervisor to work for a facilities management organisation in Liverpool. We are looking for applicants from purchasing supervisor level and above as it is very much a case of finding the right person for the role. The overall purpose of the job is to ensure that products are supplied in a timely manner within budget and approved costs, consistent with company quality and purchasing department policies. Roles and responsibilities include the inputting of requistions into the company system, selecting suppliers, issuing enquiries and orders and compiling an approved supplier list. Monitoring the service of suppliers and recording and addressing any shortfalls. Researching the suitabilty and cost effectiveness of supplies and liaising with relevant managers on purchasing matters and assisting with budget setting. This role also involves managing the progress and delivery of orders, managing any subordinate staff in the purchasing role, and assisting the rest of the team as required.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate good IT skills, with an ability to use company software systems. Previous purchasing background and an understanding of exchange rates and funding issues along with an ability to administer purcahsing and budget requirements would be advantageous.
