Export Sales Manager required for International company based in Wimbourne, Dorset.
The principal role of the post is overseeing Export Sales; developing sales opportunities within the customer base and build long term relations. It carries a significant responsibility in terms of setting and developing growth strategy through increased sales & market activity.
The successful candidate will have a background within the sales arena and speak and must speak German
Duties and Responsibilities
• Plan and manage overseas sales through direct customers, distributors and other relevant sales outlets.
• Manage export accounts to achieve sales targets, liaising closely with the Sales Manager, to develop and maximise all sales opportunities.
• Negotiate and manage contracts for sales as required to enable effective trading, operations and customer relations.
• To develop knowledge of local languages & business customs.
• Research and report on relevant local territories practices, and ensure such knowledge is factored into the planning of the department's own strategy, resources and procedures.
• To promote new products and actively support all product promotions to customers whilst in communication with them.
• To receive progress and process incoming calls from the customer base, ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
• To follow up enquiries and progress through to order placement, whilst ensuring the quotations database is maintained up-to date.
• To process orders, enquiries, sample requests, catalogue requests and offer quotations.
• To deal with customer complaints in a professional and helpful manner.
• To organise and attend customer visits and represent company at Trade Shows.
• Manage the movement of products in and out of the country in accordance with organisational policy and procedure, and to comply with relevant local, country and international
law and process.
• Manage the necessary administration and documentation for the efficient, cost-effective and lawful execution of all export activities.
• Maintain and share with colleagues as appropriate, personal knowledge of all relevant export law and procedures; tariffs and duties; licences and restrictions.
• Liaise with all other departments influenced by or reliant upon export activities.
• Monitor, record, analyse and report on activities, trends, results and recommendations relating to export activities via the monthly summary reporting system
• To make effective use of the IT systems available.
• To adhere to company procedures.
• To be willing to learn new skills.
Skills and Experience:
• Background in Sales
• Self motivated individual looking for a career within a large, expanding company
• One european language is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to work with people of all levels
• Good IT skills and a good general education
