Role: Bilingual Technical Support Engineer
Salary:£23,400-£27,000
Location:Newcastle Upon-Tyne
Our Global client is looking for a Technical Support engineer for one of their client, which is one of the market leader in Storage systems, for their Support Center in Newcastle upon Tyne UK. You will be part of the EMEA team and you will support customers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. You will cooperate closely with our French, Italian, Spanish, Hebrew and UK teams. You will support customer via phone as well as email. As a Technical Support Engineer you will support customers on all kinds of Software and Hardware issues.
You will be troubleshooting protocols which are running on Netapp Hardware and support our customers with the Isolation and resolution of their problems.
As the perfect candidate, you will be motivated, work independently as well as in a team with a customer orientated attitude. You will need outstanding technical skills in order to solve problems quickly for our customers.

Job Requirements:

? Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred, or equivalent work experience.
? Bilingual (German/English) Required
? Excellent communication, organization, and technical support skills are essential.
? NFS and CIFS
? TCP/IP
? NAS/SAN
? UNIX, Solaris, Windows XP/7
? Windows Server 2003/2008 R2
? DNS/DHCP/ADS
Desirable:
? At least one year experience in Storage
? Fibre-Channel-Protocol and iSCSI
? SAN
? VMware ESX(i) and Microsoft Hyper-V
? Enterprise Backup Software (e.g. Symantec Backup Exec)
? Exchange 2003/2007/2010
? Microsoft/Cisco/NetApp certifications are a plus.
Hours of Work:
37.5 hours a week over a 24/7 period, please note however currently the team work Monday to Saturday between 07.00am to 18.00pm, the pay is hourly but the equivalent salary is between £23,400 - £27,000 depending on skills and experience

1st floor - Volume client (Paypal) english speaking - direct recruitment model (Kelda)
Ground floor - Nortel - high level technical support engineers and difficut to find languages eg Hebrew (utilise specialist hebrew recr agy)
- Avaya (Andie) and P&G (Andie) - relatively quiet recruitment needs
- 1 other client = large auction house
Cisco recruitment is due to growth on geo areas or replacing leavers, max is about 6 at any one time, usually across a number of roles/languages not multiples of same
Paypal has been up to 20-30 per week but final intake is 23/9 then will need to establish levels of backfill required to maintain numbers
Main recruitment strategy is to promote brand awareness through direct model and icrease recruitment through referrals
