Our client, an international construction group, is looking for an experienced Civil Engineering Materials Buyer for their Procurement Department based in their Maidenhead office.
Job Responsibilities:
As a Materials Buyer, you will be responsible for:
- Sector specific material procurement
- Management of the supply chain and trading agreements
- Providing support to a winning procurement team
- Liaising with project management to assist with procurement stratagies, planning and scheduling
- Project visits travelling nationally
Preferred Skills:
The ideal candidate will have a strong work history in buying/procurement from a civil engineering background (highways, rail, water and airports)
- Technical understanding of associated industry products within highways, rail, water and airports
- Excellent communication across all business levels
- Excellent negotiating skills - telephone and face to face
- Demonstration of financial acumen and producing cost reductions
- Procurement database application understanding
- Ability to process procurement data
