Category Buyer
Based in Warrington
Temporary position (on-going)
Hourly rate £9.23 - £11.79 depending on experience
Our client is a national organisation who is a leading provider of business and IT services to the private and public sector. Currently they are looking for a Category Buyer to join them temporarily based at their Head Office in Warrington.
Primary objective of the role:
• To support the category manager in managing and administering an assigned category of spend across all customers delivering purchasing services.
Key responsibilities:
• To implement and manage category plans achieving financial performance and growth
• To support in the development of marketing plans and communication for the category plans
• To develop and maintain continuous engagement with key suppliers
• To implement the prescribed commercial, contract and supplier relationship management programs
• Deliver tendering and other procurement processes in line with both departmental and category targets and where required EU regulations
• Produce procurement reports for both internal and external publication
Skills required:
• Working towards CIPS (chartered institute of purchasing and supply) memberhip
• Experience of Public Sector procurement
• Strong communication skills in all mediums and environments
• A sound understanding of the value of procurement services
