Our client, a major employer in Bristol, is now recruiting for an Accountant... with a difference. Fundamentally, this is a Management Accountant vacancy, however, think Systems Accountant or Technical Accountant as you read the job description, as pure management accounting is not enough. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team where you will be stretched daily and your input valued from day one.
Job Responsibilities:
As a Systems Accountant you will be responsible for;
- Preparation of the monthly management accounts
- Preparing the financial accounts, maintaining the annual forecast
- Maintenance of the fixed asset register
- Development of specific spreadsheets for reporting processes
- Utilising reports to recommend improvements and efficiencies
- Advising key stakeholders in order to stimulate the above
Preferred Skills:
- You are likely to be AAT qualified or studying towards CIMA/ACCA
- Very strong PC skills (MS Excel including macros), modelling etc
- Previous experience of using a database system (full training will be provided on their system)
- Accounting background a pre-requisite
Personal Attributes:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- A real interest and ability in systems
- The ability to influence, based on sound reasoning
